everything freaking crashes under Linux!

EVERYTHING!
those developers cannot understand what "DO NOT CRASH" is, and instead they waste time on stupid crap like "Inclusive and Diverse"!
*sighs* I can't even make music under Linux... I try and everything freaking crashes, or is too hard to use.
it feels like I am operating one of those big mainframes, and yeah just to make a song.
like connecting all the cables like a total mess and praying it will work... WHY CAN'T IT RUN WITHOUT CRASHING! WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM!!!!!
is it that hard for you devs to put some quality assurance? yeah no, let's freaking waste time making GNOME and crap.
do you really think "master/slave" is a bad thing?
do you really think "whitelist/blacklist" is racist?
are you kidding me?
ok and if you really want to fix those "issues" anyway, why not FIX WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT FIRST LIKE ALL THE CRASHES and then work on the rest?
like that shouldn't be important at all...
this is why Year of the Linux Desktop will never happen!
yeah, everything crashes and/or is a failure:
- Kdenlive corrupts your project at random, and then it crashes
- Natron is useful for a thing or two and then it hangs
- Blender is an excessively complex thing that is only beginning to improve. oh, and it is slow.
- Ardour can't even do MIDI clock sync. it eats all your memory all of a sudden, and even if it does not, it never works.
- Rosegarden crashes if you press the OK button in the settings page two times.
- there are ZERO applications under Linux to work with audio sync mechanisms (MTC, LTC, MIDI clock and JACK transport)
- there are ZERO fast open-source video editors that do motion blur (Olive is changing this but is an early work in progress)
- sometimes the audio doesn't work. I have to start it manually.
- for a time Krita used to crash when saving. YEAH, SAVING.
- Audacity might crash at random, although I think they kind of fixed this 'cuz it has not crashed in a while
- you can't record the screen (it hangs) if using Mesa 19.1 or higher
- KWin by default is shit and stutters all the time, which forced me to create my version of it.
- if you're about to run out of memory, the thing hangs and sometimes it can take minutes for the OOM killer to work and react.... just KILL the freaking offending process already!
- there are NO samplers for Linux, or at least none that REALLY work. every single sampler I have tried:
- is too complex (like you have to make an SFZ file first)
- is too ancient, supporting crap nobody uses anymore (GIG)
- have bugs. yeah even samplv1 has a bug every time you re-open Ardour
- are too puny to be useful
- LMMS appears to work, but then you do something and the whole thing crashes
honestly I feel like this list is even bigger...
like come on already, it's 2020 and it is very sad to see all of this happening...
like couldn't they really work on it just like they used to back in the 2000's?!
yeah, in the year 2000 Linux was amazing, built on a rock-solid foundation and everything worked and even better than before... but now what? Windows/macOS being better than Linux?
NO! not even that... look:
- Windows went down the slowdown and spying route
- macOS is beginning to acquire Galápagos syndrome (see Metal, App Store, Apple CPU and related)
- Linux is going down the "Inclusive and Diverse" route
- the BSDs have no chance on a desktop
- AmigaOS died after Commodore made horrible decisions
- Solaris was killed when Oracle bought the sun
- the other operating systems don't matter. nobody really cares
the world is getting more sad every day... let me make an analogy...
- Windows is like Sony: kinda open, to some extent.
- macOS is like Nintendo: beautiful, but a constrained luxury.
- Linux? go screw yourself, we don't even have games
..........
- Windows is like Corsair: kind of durable, with an optional bling-bling
- macOS is like Razer: super cool and attractive, but otherwise a kind of toy sometimes
- Linux? again, go screw yourself, bring a circuit board, cables and LEDs and do it yourself
all those memes/comics about Windows vs. macOS vs. Linux are so freaking true... LIKE WHAT THE HELL! MAKING MY OWN CAR?! REALLY?!?
I have no time for that; I just want to work and let that be it! -_-
