DuckDuckGo doesn't track you.... but allows others to track you?

this is a terrible mistake that I cannot forgive... isn't this essentially telling Stack Exchange that you're using DuckDuckGo?
what happened to the privacy here? seriously, what?

perhaps because the question URL contains the name of the question, but being lazy to retrieve it and just using "ddg" as a dummy is just insane. what if Stack Exchange starts parsing the logs and counts all DuckDuckGo users by checking whether the request contains "ddg"?

but hey, at least you have the option to not click on it...
